An electromechanical frame drives its crosshead with a servo motor and ballscrew, which holds low speeds steadily and keeps control clean at moderate loads, the conditions most tension, compression and flexure work actually needs. NextGen builds these frames for metals, wire and fasteners as well as films, plastics and composites, working to ASTM E8 and ISO 6892-1 for metals and to ASTM D882 for thin film.
Frames run from benchtop units for foil and fine wire to floor-standing columns for structural sections, and each one is matched with grips, fixtures, extensometers and method software rather than sold bare. Every machine is verified to ISO 7500 and calibrated on site, your operators are trained on it, and support continues for the life of the frame.
The NG-EML Series of electromechanical universal testing machines is a new-generation line offering higher testing speeds, greater frame stiffness, and more precise control. It is designed to meet the stringent testing requirements of advanced materials such as composites, high-strength steels, and high-temperature alloys, while also excelling in standardized routine tests. This series delivers top-tier performance and accuracy at an accessible price point, making high-quality testing affordable for labs and production facilities.
The NG-EML series is available in four models, covering a wide force range from 50 N up to 1000 kN (with lower-force load cell options for each frame to measure even down to 10 N in some cases). Each model features the same core performance and software capabilities, with differences primarily in load capacity, frame size, and speed. The table below outlines the key specifications for each model:

* Figures in parentheses indicate values for the dual-space configuration (if applicable).
The 50 kN model is a dual-column frame that can be used on a bench top or with an optional base stand (floor configuration) for testing larger specimens.
Vertical test space is the maximum distance between the crosshead and work table (for floor models) or base fixture (bench models) in the standard configuration.

Note: Floor-standing models’ listed dimensions exclude the optional controller PC arm or workbench. If the integrated touchscreen panel is used, add approximately 450 mm to the width to account for the swing arm. Opting for the dual-space (extended column) configuration will increase the overall height of the frame as indicated. Frame stiffness values are measured with a standard “spoke-type” load cell installed.
One partner to equip your complete metals laboratory
Electromechanical frames cover most static testing in a metals laboratory. NextGen equips the rest of it too, from grips and fixtures to servo-hydraulic frames, impact testing, hardness and metallography, and stays responsible for it after delivery.
