Unsound cement expands after it has already hardened, and the damage shows up in the structure rather than in the laboratory. The autoclave brings that forward: bar specimens are held under saturated steam at high pressure, and the length change afterwards shows what the cement would have done in service. NextGen supplies autoclave equipment for that test, to ASTM C151.
The system takes a rack of specimens, holds pressure and temperature through the full cycle, and works with the comparator and moulds the method calls for, measured to ASTM C490. It is installed and commissioned by our engineers, your team is trained on the procedure and on its safety requirements, and support continues for the life of the equipment.
One partner to equip your complete concrete laboratory
Autoclave testing is one station of a cement laboratory. NextGen equips the rest of it too, from mortar mixers and curing cabinets to Blaine fineness and Vicat setting time, and stays responsible for it after delivery.
