The BrinGen Scope is an optically advanced CCD Brinell measuring scope for manual or digital Brinell testers, and it turns the indentation reading into an automatic scanning step. It works with a computer or a laptop, and the result appears in real time.
Brinell hardness is calculated from the diameter of the indentation, which is why the reading is the weakest link in the method: two operators measuring the same impression through an eyepiece rarely land on the same number, and ASTM E10 asks for the mean of two readings taken at right angles.
