This system uses layered protection to reduce the risk of overload and unintended crosshead travel. The controller monitors force and motion in real time and stops movement if it detects an abnormal load spike, an obstruction, or a sudden specimen break. A hardware cutoff also engages at 103% of rated force, and emergency stop functions are built into both the control system and the machine hardware.

To control crosshead movement during setup and testing, the machine uses programmable stroke limits together with mechanical end-stop switches. The handheld controller adds another layer of protection with features that support controlled positioning, return-to-origin, grip lockout, and overload prevention, helping reduce accidental movement while operators are loading specimens or changing fixtures.

If your application involves brittle specimens, sudden failures, or closer operator access to the test space, we can also configure an optional enclosed shield with an interlocked door that restricts motion when opened.
