Standard cylindrical specimens typically range from 0.12 to 1.0 inch (3 to 25 mm) in diameter and up to 11 inches (280 mm) in polishing length. Flat specimens can vary in width and thickness depending on the test method, and the system automatically adjusts pressure and motion to maintain uniform surface quality across the entire gauge section.

Interchangeable fixtures enable quick adaptation between specimen types and sizes, ensuring tight alignment and consistent longitudinal surface finish.
