The NG-SHM Class DP – Servo Hydraulic Testing Machine incorporates an advanced copper melting process for producing the piston and guide sleeves in combination with the wearing ring. This method, developed by NextGen Material Testing, involves melting copper into the piston and guide sleeve assembly, which results in a much stronger and more durable connection compared to conventional techniques. Copper enhances the component’s structural bonding and wear resistance.

One of the major advantages of this process is that it significantly increases the lifespan of the wearing ring, up to five times longer than that of commonly used polymer-based materials. This increased durability reduces maintenance and replacement frequency, supporting longer operating cycles and more consistent machine performance. The improved thermal and mechanical properties provided by the copper also contribute to better handling of high loads and temperatures.
