How To Use The Checklist

Monthly/Quarterly (QA/Metrology Sign-Off)
Monthly or quarterly checks are deeper and are typically owned by QA or metrology. This is where you confirm that the equipment remains fit for use across relevant ranges, that the system configuration is still controlled, and that maintenance and verification programs are working as intended. This often includes reviewing verification trends for drift, performing scheduled intermediate checks, checking alignment where required, confirming software and firmware versions against a controlled baseline, and verifying that any changes during the period were properly documented and validated. QA/metrology sign-off is your audit anchor because it shows independent control, not only operator-level checks.
Trigger-Based Gates (After Updates/Repairs/Moves/Overload)
Trigger-based gates are mandatory checkpoints that prevent “silent changes” from contaminating results. Any meaningful event should trigger a controlled return-to-service process: software or firmware updates, sensor replacements, fixture or grip replacement, major maintenance, relocation, overload events, or any incident that could affect measurement integrity.

Document maintenance and require return-to-service verification after any repair, update, overload, or relocation.
