You should look beyond Series A when your test program starts pushing past a compact single-column bench-top frame, especially on force, specimen size, or frame rigidity. Series B is the next step if you want to stay bench-top but need a dual-column frame and capacity up to 10 kN. Series C is the better fit once your work moves into the 5 kN to 50 kN range or calls for a larger dual-column system in bench-top or floor-standing form. Series D is intended for high-force work from 50 kN to 1000 kN, including larger specimens and heavier-duty tensile, compression, flexural, or cyclic testing.

The decision usually comes down to four things: your maximum load, specimen geometry, required fixtures, and how much frame stiffness the method demands. If you are testing stronger metals, structural composites, or samples that need more width, more travel, or a heavier frame, stepping up from Series A will usually make the system a better match for the method.
