A hydraulic bursting strength tester evaluates fabric and sheet material performance by clamping the specimen and applying hydraulic pressure through a rubber diaphragm until the material ruptures. That gives you the burst pressure and distension at burst, which is valuable for woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, nonwovens, paper, and board when multidirectional stress is a better representation of real service conditions than a straight tensile pull.
With this system, automated burst detection, servo-controlled loading, four test modes, and interchangeable test areas help you compare materials more consistently across QC and R&D work. If you also need to evaluate tear resistance, that is a different failure mode and is better addressed with the GenTear Pro – Elmendorf Tearing Tester.
